Heartland Bank Named 2017 Agribusiness Preferred Lending Partner

 Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Heartland Banks Agribusiness Lending TeamCongratulations to our Heartland Agribusiness team for their recently announced Preferred Lending Partner (PLP) designation by the Farm Service Agency. The U.S. Department of Agriculture now recognizes Heartland Bank as a trusted partner in the FSA Loan Guarantee Program. Much like Heartland Bank’s Preferred Lender status with the Small Business Administration, the Agribusiness team’s PLP status means that we can offer more financing options and more control for our ag clients, by offering a more streamlined application and approval process with faster turn-around times.

Since the launch of Heartland Agribusiness in late 2014, the team has grown to include four full time Agribusiness Bankers. Our banking and lending specialists have extensive farming and financial experience and know the value of a solid one-on-one relationship based on trust. The team of VP, Manager of Agribusiness Joel Oney, VP Brian Fracker, AVP Bennett Musselman and AVP Seth Middleton already works with farmers and farm organizations – from swine to dairy cows, from beef cattle to laying hens – and they’re committed to being the right financial partner for those working in Ohio’s farm community

Musselman and Middleton recently graduated from the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s AgriPOWER Institute Class VIII. Started in 2008, AgriPOWER is an intensive, yearlong leadership training program that helps participants develop important skills so they can become effective community leaders and advocates for agriculture. Over the last year, AgriPOWER participants attended multi-day sessions where they learned about public policy issues facing local communities, the state of Ohio, the nation and the world. “Heartland Bank wins with people,” Oney said, and “Bennett and Seth are examples of the quality people we’ve added to the Heartland Bank Agribusiness team. We are very proud of their accomplishments and their participation in the 2016 AgriPOWER class,” he said.

The Agribusiness team is proud to partner with clients like

In February of 2016, the Heartland Agribusiness team had the opportunity to present at the Young Ag Professionals Winter Leadership Conference. Designed to provide leadership development and professional growth opportunities for Farm Bureau members who are 18-35, this program encourages young farmers to build personal and professional skills, network with agricultural leaders, and learn how to make a difference in their own communities. “Our team drew an enormous crowd for our presentation entitled Ag Finance to Gain Farm Ownership,” Oney said.

Heartland Bank has deep ties to Ohio’s farming community. Visionary bank founder Tiney McComb championed the cause of the agriculture industry and made growth and success a reality for central Ohio’s farmers and producers. If your livelihood depends upon changing weather, changing technology and changing commodity prices, you expect and deserve a stable financial partner. A partner that will to help you grow your income and net worth. A partner that will weather the cyclical nature of the markets. A partner like Heartland Bank. Come on over to Heartland.
