A proud native of St. Louis and die hard Cardinals baseball fan (just ask to see the license plate on his car!), he even had the opportunity to play Legion baseball while studying business at Florida State University. He’s celebrating his fourth year at Heartland after a brief hiatus in the great state of Arizona.

This month’s Employee Spotlight features Rich Weber, an effective leader and respected colleague that supports employee growth initiatives in his job as AVP, Retail Support Manager. He began his career as an Assistant Manager of the Dublin branch in 2004, and was hired by the bank’s founder, Tiney McComb. Over the last 12 years, Rich has learned the ins and outs of every retail position offered at Heartland and even boasts that he “was a Universal Banker before we had Universal Bankers!”

The Buxton InnWhen the family business is called Urban Restorations and the company’s website touts: ‘The Fusion of Modern Architecture and Historic Preservation’, you might get the impression that owner Bob Schilling and his family concentrate on inner-city homes and properties in central Ohio. But after researching the recent growth of the Licking County community of Granville, the charming and vibrant town just west of Newark, he found out very quickly that the Buxton Inn project was calling his name. Of course, it might have been the famous Inn’s ghosts calling his name……

It’s that time of the year again and Heartland Bank is in the giving spirit! On Saturday, December 12, the Heartland family gathered for the annual Holiday Party at the Creekside Conference & Event Center in Gahanna. In addition, we celebrated the 19th annual Silent Auction with proceeds benefitting several community food banks and local charities. This year, twelve area organizations will benefit from the generosity of Heartland Bank employees bidding on more than 180 items donated to the holiday celebration. Central Ohio’s community bank continues the tradition of giving back to the communities that we serve.

The latest in agricultural equipment and farming methods will be showcased at the 2015 Farm Science Review, sponsored by the College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University, and held on September 22-23-24 at the 2,100 acre Molly Caren Agricultural Center, near London, Ohio. In addition to harvesters and combines, you’ll see tillage equipment, grain bins, feed processing equipment and more. Want to learn about Urban Agriculture? Or how to cover crops to improve nutrient efficiency? Or Integrated Pest Management? If you’re an aspiring craft brewer, you can even learn about Hops Production in Ohio.
